The Hillsborough County School Board approved six principal appointments for the 2024-25 school year Tuesday.

Two of the principals confirmed Tuesday came from schools that were closed by the district at the end of the school year for low enrollment. The six new appointments bring the total number of schools getting a new leader to 11 in the past month.

The board previously confirmed five appointments in May, including two from closing schools.

Effective July 1, here are the new assignments:

  • Wendy Rauld will move to Farnell Middle School near Westchase. She joined the district in 2008 and spent the past five years as principal of Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace.
  • Keisha Dixon will take over at Greco Middle. Dixon was previously the principal at McLane Middle School in Brandon. McLane was among the five schools that closed due to low enrollment.
  • Theresa Bode will be the new principal of Chiaramonte Elementary in South Tampa. She comes from MacFarlane Park Elementary in West Tampa, where she was assistant principal for elementary instruction.
  • Cynthia Crim will move back to Palm River Elementary, where she previously work as a math coach. For the past four years she served as the principal at Dunbar Elementary in West Tampa.
  • Christina Copeland will be the principal at Shaw Elementary in North Tampa. She spent the past two years as principal of Cleveland Elementary in Seminole Heights, which closed at the end of the school year.
  • Michelle Pryor will be the principal of Shore Elementary in Ybor City. Pryor previously held a position as assistant principal for elementary instruction at Muller Elementary near the University of South Florida.
