Brevard High School Students Receive ROTC Scholarships, U.S. Academy Appointments

Outstanding JROTC Brevard County High school students were honored during a recent Military Officers Association of America’s Cape Canaveral Chapter luncheon at the Indian River Colony Club in Viera.

During the event, JROTC Group Scholarship award winners were recognized and included Carly Foglia, Caleb Maruzzella, Christain Carey, Joel Freelland, Brennon Curtis, James Captain and Holly Berry.

Also recognized were U.S. Academy appointment recipients, including Kaitlyn O’Connor, U.S. Military Academy; Colin Kearns, U.S. Naval Academy; Nathan Boonsanguan, U.S. Military Academy; Edison Vinje, U.S. Military Academy; Jacob Zegarski, U.S. Naval Academy;; William Struble U.S. Military Academy; and Branden Ayers, U.S. Naval Academy.


The Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral, is a service/social organization dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving the entitlements and benefits of its members. Firstly, it promotes the aims, objectives, and national legislative programs of MOAA.

High priority is given to providing useful services to its members and to the favorable resolution of issues that affect active duty and retired members of the seven uniformed services and their Reserve and National Guard components.

MOAA National, the various State Councils, and their affiliate chapters, including the Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral (MOAACC), are all nonpartisan organizations.
