With all the hurricanes blowing through, Floridians might have lost track of the fast approaching elections.

In three weeks, voters will have cast ballots that could reshape the way public education looks in their communities. Some races remain for school board seats that were not decided in the August primary, in addition to some superintendent selections and tax referendum questions.

Candidates continue to seek support as Election Day nears. Among them:

A former substitute teacher faces a candidate backed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in a race for an open Hernando County seat, WUFT reports.

A former high school English teacher who resigned her post over the state’s push against the “woke” agenda in schools faces a technology entrepreneur in a race for an east Manatee County position, East County Observer reports.

The husband of a teacher and a teacher are vying for an open seat in Suwannee County, WUFT reports.
