Manatee County district plans to build 5 schools

Industry,
The Manatee County (Florida) district plans to build five schools by 2027.

The Bradenton Herald reports that district officials plan to open a K-8 and a middle school in August 2025, two elementary schools in August 2026 and a high school in August 2027.

By opening several new campuses over the next three years, district leaders say the goal is to relieve overcrowding and keep up with rapid development in the eastern part of the county.

Superintendent Jason Wysong said K-8 schools are popular among families who want to have more of their children on the same campus and who want to make the transition from elementary to middle school easier.

The K-8 campus will have a two-story elementary school, a one-story middle school and enough space for 1,620 students.

The district plans to open the elementary school in August 2025 and the middle school in August 2026.
