Awards Committee

The Awards Committee chair shall be appointed by the FASA President and shall be composed of members representative of the FASA membership including one representative from the Diversity Committee. The committee is to decide the recipients of the awards through an application process, criteria, and timeline to be outlined in the FASA Policy & Procedures Handbook. FASA awards shall be presented in an appropriate session during the annual meeting.
The awards program shall include but not be limited to the following:
A. FASA Presidential Service Award - Presented for outstanding service to FASA in its continuing goal of improving the quality of education in Florida.
B. FASA Champion of Education Award - presented to an outstanding civic leader and citizen for contributions to the field of public education.
C. Legislator of the Year Award - for outstanding contributions to education by one or more State Legislator and/or U.S. Congressman.
D. National Distinguished Principal Award (presented through FAEMSP)
E. NASSP Principal of the Year Award (presented through FASSP)
F. National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award (presented through FAPA)
G. NASSP AP of the Year Award (presented through FAPA)
H. Little Red Schoolhouse Awards (presented through FAEMSP)
I. Others (as decided by the Awards Committee with approval of the Board).
