Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be in writing before 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, to receive a refund of your registration fee, minus a $30 processing fee. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations canceled after Wednesday, May 7, 2025, or for no-shows.

Assistant Principals Institute
Assistant principals are invited to participate in this institute kicking off at Discover '25. In partnership with Learning-Focused this Assistant Principals Institute will include a total of 16 hours of professional learning at Discover '25 and on-site group walkthroughs in the fall to ensure the learning continues.
Educational leadership today involves navigating complex challenges such as addressing systemic issues, improving school culture, driving student outcomes, and managing stakeholder expectations, all within existing constraints. Effective leaders need to understand the detailed and broad aspects of school leadership, be committed to continuous improvement, and adeptly apply a Systems Mindset. The Making Progress Institute, focuses on transforming visions into realities. True transformation requires more than small changes; it demands a comprehensive overhaul, a shift in mindset, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This event provides these leaders with the tools, insights, and support needed to create thriving environments for teachers, successful students, and strengthened communities.
Session’s Topics:
- Apply a Systems Mindset: Learn what Systems Thinking is and how it provides the foundation for improvement. Gain insights into viewing your school as an interconnected system, driving significant improvements through strategic alignment of school initiatives and culture.
- Instructional Strategies: Discover a principal's impact on student achievement and expectations around specific High-Yield Strategies. Learn how to utilize strategy continuums to improve communication.
- Organizational Change: Improvement is based on change. Learn how to affect change to address the knowing-doing gap.
- Monitoring and Data Collection: Learn the importance of monitoring and how to design effective walkthrough tools and use the data.
- Feedback Conversations: Discover the power of a feedback conversation based on a framework to increase the effectiveness of each conversation.
- Accountability: Learn how Accountability is used constructively to help you build your desired culture. Explore methods to foster accountability within your team and lead with a measurable impact on your school's vision and student outcomes.

Coaching for School Leadership Cohort
The Coaching for School Leadership Cohort is an in-depth opportunity for principals and principal supervisors to hone coaching skills that can be put into practice immediately. The learning will develop attendees through three components:
- Discover '25 Launch: Foundations of Coaching for Instructional Excellence facilitated by Florida Atlantic University coaching expert consultants as a pre-conference to Discover '25 in June,
- Monthly Interactive Virtual Forums: Build on the learning and opportunities to reflect upon and practice five coaching stances,
- Two-Day Summit: Coaching for Sustained Instructional Excellence facilitated by Florida Atlantic University expert coaching consultants in-person.
Participants will…
- develop the ability to use coaching skills and strategies that help school leaders build self-efficacy through reflective practices and the self-identification of instructional leadership competencies.
- engage in reflective coach conversations focused on giving feedback, relationship building, and listening which will guide the leader to examine their actions and thoughts and lead to a new way of being.
Specific learning objectives through learning and practice include:
- Identify, apply, and refine five essential coaching competencies: Building Relationships; Leveraging Resources; Demonstrating Data Literacy; Practicing Listening, Observing, and Questioning; and Providing Feedback.
- Define and use coaching stances (Bloom and Owens-Wilson, 2023) including facilitative, collaborative, instructive, consultative, and directive.
- Clarify coaching outcomes to align with the evolving role of school leaders, leadership standards and competencies.
- Engage in personal and professional development that builds a culture of collaborative inquiry that leads to collective efficacy.
- Self-assess individual practice to support instructional leadership development and make commitments to ongoing improvement.
- Develop and implement a personal and team coaching plan.

The special pricing for FASA room block is $219.00 a night.
